Green Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking a Portfolio Director for a leading player in infrastructure and private equity.  Our Client manages private investors and several world’s leading financial organisations, Government organisations, pension capitals and insurance corporations. Their mission is to evolve and accomplish captivating investment plans for an extended span of time and the goal is to capitalise in a method that bolsters sustainable economic and social advancement and are cognizant of the commitment made to society.

The Role:

  • You will be accountable for the technical presentation of the infrastructure portfolio from construction and operations, making sure that the operational and economic presentation of all resources encounters or surpasses the investment case, and implementing suitable amendment plans
  • Commencing optimisation activities at project and portfolio level to maximise investor returns
  • Leading the Infrastructure Division’s Technical Portfolio Management Team consisting of professional engineers with profound experience in relevant sectors
  • Responsible for Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality targets throughout the portfolio and assuring they are met
  • Assuring that experiences learnt from portfolio assets are vigorously fed back into new investment choices
  • Collaborating with the other Portfolio Director (Financial and Reporting), ascertain that any commercial disputes are sufficiently resourced and settled in the best welfares of the company’s funds and investors
  • Representing company’s funds and investors interests by sitting on the boards of selected investment companies as Investment Director; monitoring the performance of selected investors through construction and operations and working closely with the management and project counterparties of investors to drive performance; to identify, assess and propose economically and operationally improved performance opportunities
  • Investors are regularly reported on all technical aspects of the portfolio
  • Identify and develop opportunities, where appropriate, for full or partial exits from investment companies
  • Relationship management and liaison with key contracting partners and stakeholders (EPC and O&M contractors, project developers, co-investors, insurers, network operators, regulators, statutory bodies, etc.) where necessary
  • Monitoring and up - to - date changes to portfolio relevant regional policy, legislation, industry policy and government support schemes
  • Active contribution to Infrastructure Team's senior leadership and overall performance

The Ideal Person:

  • Must have extensive relevant experience in infrastructure asset management within renewable energy/waste management
  • Profound technical knowledge of all the multiple technologies in the portfolio, especially bioenergy technologies
  • Experienced as a representative of the board is essential, especially in an entrepreneurial SME environment
  • Has a strong network in the renewable energy sector
  • Technical professional team management experience in multiple geographies and time zones
  • Economic understanding of all the different technologies in the portfolio
  • Aware of the economic drivers of the waste management industry, including waste pricing
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Can adapt quickly according to varying demands
  • Knowledge of and use of financial models for assessing and forecasting performance
  • Capable of negotiating key trade agreements and solving complex contractual disputes with major international players
  • Good understanding of the supply chains of biomass would be beneficial
  • Has no issue with often travel to project locations around the UK and all other overseas locations
